Michelle Johnson-Tidjani, Esq, JD

As the organization’s Chief Administrative Officer, Michelle provides strategic oversight of the health ministry’s national budget, ensuring financial alignment with the organization's goals and objectives. She collaborates closely with the Chief Operating Officer on the implementation of various initiatives, including the implementation of the organization’s optimized operating model. Michelle provides executive oversight for a number of enterprise functions, including: Corporate Governance; CommonSpirit Health’s partnership with the Morehouse School of Medicine; Enterprise Consulting; the Lloyd H. Dean Institute of Humankindness; Security and Emergency Management; and National Meetings and Events. In addition, she partners with CommonSpirit’s CEO Wright Lassiter III to provide strategic and operational oversight of the Office of the CEO which houses: Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Belonging; Corporate Responsibility; Advocacy and Legislative Affairs; and Philanthropy. Michelle also works with the organization’s Board of Stewardship Trustees to ensure that business decisions align with the values and mission of the organization’s sponsoring congregations. Previously, Michelle served as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Henry Ford Health System. In this role, she provided executive leadership, from both a strategic and operational perspective, for the following areas: Office of the General Counsel covering all legal affairs for the health system, the Business Integrity and Tax Office, Information Privacy and Security, the Governance Office, and the Risk Finance and Insurance Office. Prior to Henry Ford, Michelle served as the Deputy Chief Legal Officer for the Cleveland Clinic, where she was responsible for more than $7 billion in contracting revenue through managed care agreements, consulting services, clinical operations, information technology, clinical trials, supply chain and all vendor relationships. Her community involvement includes serving as a board member of Inforum, the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Foundation, the Detroit Bar Association Foundation, the Community Impact Committee of the United Way of Southeastern Michigan, the American Arbitration Association, McGregor Fund Foundation, Junior Achievement, Advent Health, a member of the advisory boards of Consero, IPMI, and a volunteer mentor for Women of Tomorrow. She has received numerous awards for her leadership including Crain’s Detroit - “Best Women Lawyers in Michigan,” Michigan Chronicle - “Woman of Excellence,” Wolverine Bar Association - Golden Gavel Award, Norman S. Minor Trailblazer Award, Kaleidoscope - 40 Under 40 Award. She earned her juris doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 1998. She was awarded a bachelor's degree with honors from Cornell University in 1995.
