Hard to Stomach

When Fran started noticing a consistent pain in her abdomen, she didn’t wait around for things to get worse. She spoke to her doctor, scheduled her colonoscopy and an upper GI scan. That’s when her doctors found a neuroendocrine tumor, a rare form of cancer that can appear anywhere in the body.

Fran and her GI team at CHI St. Vincent immediately went to work. In less than a month, Dr. Abhijit Godbole and Dr. Sven Hida had Fran in surgery to remove the tumor and started her on recovery treatment to ensure she would remain cancer-free. Fran’s is a success story, because of how quickly she talked with her doctor about her pain, and how quickly her CHI St. Vincent team was able to diagnose and treat her.
