The wreck left her son, Eli, with a traumatic brain injury. Through emergency and follow-up procedures, the doctors and nurses had saved his life. But he was unable to walk, unable to sit up, unable to speak. Now, Felicia was faced with the prospect of years of care and treatment to try to help Eli recover his function.
Once again, Felicia refused to listen to doubt. She set out with the same determination and patience that helped her and her family get through the first weeks of the injury, taking care of Eli’s needs and painstakingly working with him on his recovery.
In the second part of this two-part podcast, Felicia talks with A View From the Bed about the commitment she and her family undertook to give Eli his best chance at recovery, and the incredible progress he’s made in the last three years.
