Andrew S. Harper, MD

Dr. Andrew Harper is a highly experienced and dedicated General Surgeon providing comprehensive surgical care to his community. A long-standing medical professional, he is committed to prioritizing patient care and fostering meaningful interactions with those he serves.

Dr. Harper brings decades of expertise to his practice, specializing in both minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. His extensive surgical services include treatment for gallbladder diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, appendicitis, and colon diseases. He also expertly manages breast disorders, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, and all types of hernias. Dr. Harper earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in 1985, following his undergraduate studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering in 1981. He completed his rigorous General Surgery Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in 1990.

Prior to establishing his practice, Dr. Harper proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1987 to 1996, including active duty during the Persian Gulf War from August 1990 to May 1991. He has been a fixture in the medical community at Rockdale Hospital in Conyers, GA, serving patients there from 1990 to 2025. Dr. Harper's philosophy is simple yet profound: patient care always comes first, driven by the most rewarding aspect of his work – the direct interactions he shares with his patients.

Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Harper cherishes spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is also passionate about caring for his pets and other animals on his property, finds solace and satisfaction working on his tractor, enjoys riding motorcycles, and is an avid supporter of Georgia Tech football.
