Bonny N. Masters, MD

Dr. Masters is an Aptos High Graduate and former Founder/Director of the Fuego Latino dance company in Watsonville.  She also taught dance and did choreography at Watsonville High School for roughly 8 years during her undergraduate education.  She hopes to bring her skills as a dancer back to the community in both serving as a physician to performers, artists and dancers as well as assist in increasing access to the arts for people who feel limited by physical disability and injury.  In medical school she participated in research and training in mixed ability ballroom dance and hopes to find a way to incorporate this knowledge into her activity in the community. Latino Medical Student Graduate of the Year (2010)Why I Became a Medical Provider: I have always wanted my background as a dancer, an artist, a scientist and a believer in human rights to be a positive force.  I strive to be sensitive to my patients' needs. I wish to guide my community through moments of crisis, and to support a healthy life style. My patients and I work together to find sustainable approaches to manage issues that cause pain, suffering or loss of function.   I understand that illness and pain are difficult and I try to be creative in working with patients to find a most satisfying path to wellness.
