Because the way care is provided is often as meaningful as the care itself. James Benson, PA-C, is an orthopedic surgery physician assistant at CommonSpirit Orthopedics Siena. He is dedicated to a patient-centered approach, empowering individuals to take an active role in their own care. James prioritizes collaboration, working closely with patients to understand their values and goals, and striving to minimize harm, maximize the quality of care, and help them reach their full potential. James's background reflects a commitment to service and well-being. He received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Southern Utah University, and his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. He also served as an Army Medical Operations Plans Training and Intelligence Officer. Outside of work, James is an avid outdoorsman and active individual, passions that fueled his service in the Army and his work as an athletic trainer. He plans to resume his Kenpo Karate and Jiu-Jitsu training soon. He is a passionate reader who was drawn to a career in healthcare because of his genuine enjoyment in connecting with people.
