James M. Tatum, MD

I completed medical school and the University of Washington then general surgery residency at USC including a year of research fellowship in thoracic disease. After residency I completed a year of critical care training at Cedars-Sinai and finally a year of foregut fellowship at USC focusing on both benign and malignant esophageal and gastric disease both surgical and endoscopic. I have a lot of experience with the Linx device and an appropriate amount of skepticism about its use, sometimes it is a good option.

I enjoy the opportunity to successfully treat complex technical problems. Surgery allows me the opportunity to do that in an environment where it directly improves people's lives and I think that is most rewarding.
