Joel Steve Kneitz, MD

Dr. Kneitz loves to help patients take charge of their health concerns and problems. His management style is hands-on, but he would rather act as the coach than the police officer in helping make a difference in his patients' lives. No problem is too complex or too simple for Dr. Kneitz. He is particularly interested in problems involving weight control, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart disease. These problems are closely related and Dr. Kneitz has new solutions to many of them. He enjoys people of all ages, including the elderly. Dr. Kneitz takes great pride in taking a few extra minutes to be very thorough with his assessments to ensure that his patients and their families understand the plans for their problems. Dr. Kneitz earned his medical degree from University of Texas Medical School in Houston and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He previously worked at the St. Luke’s Health Center on San Felipe, before it became the Minor Emergency Center. He then accepted a private practice position in Fredericksburg, Texas. After practicing for four years in the Texas Hill Country, Dr. Kneitz is very happy to return to Houston.
