Kirstyn Powell, MD

Dr. Kirstyn Powell had the privilege of serving an incredibly diverse patient population in Kansas City and says she feels accomplished to have completed her residency there. The medical and cultural complexity she encountered has made her more well-rounded and capable of confronting difficult cases. Dr. Powell especially enjoyed empowering women by giving them the information and agency they needed to feel more in control of their bodies, especially in pregnancy. She practices a full scope of general obstetrics and gynecology, and takes a particular interest in using opportunities to focus on preventive care. In the clinic setting, Dr. Powell manages pregnancy, contraception, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, infertility workup, PCOS, menopause, and urinary concerns. She is adept at colposcopy and looks forward to continuing to build skills at ASCCP conferences. In the operating room she offers minimally invasive techniques including robotic surgery. Dr. Powell is originally from upstate New York where she grew up camping, hiking and playing in two feet of snow, so naturally she made her way towards the west coast.
