Lorinda (Lori) Thompson, LICSW

Lori Thompson, LICSW, is a behavioral health coordinator working with the Northwest Washington Family Medicine Residency primary health care providers. She sees patients age 13 and older.

Lori focuses on a strengths-based approach to therapy which includes tools from solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment (ACT) therapy, and mindfulness practice. She uses a compassionate, holistic, trauma-informed and individualized approach to addressing anxiety disorders, depression, self-esteem issues, and life transitions.

Lori's goal is to provide a welcoming, therapeutic atmosphere where patients feel safe to be their genuine self without fear of judgment or expectations.

Lori has more than 20 years' experience working in the local community and is well-versed in social service resources and outreach.
