Michael Sutters, MD

Michael Sutters, MD, is a board-certified nephrologist with a clinical focus in hypertension, transplant nephrology, glomerulonephritis and polycystic kidney disease. He completed medical training in the UK at Oxford, London and Cambridge universities before moving to the USA in 1992.

Dr. Sutters is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the Royal College of Physicians. He pursued postdoctoral studies at Yale University School of Medicine. Before taking a position at Virginia Mason Medical Center, he was an assistant professor of medicine for ten years in the department of nephrology at Johns Hopkins University. He has published papers in human fluid physiology and polycystic kidney disease.

Dr. Sutters loves the Pacific Northwest. He enjoys fly fishing, photography and restoring old cars during his leisure time. He also plays the violin in a local orchestra.
