Tamara Ortiz-Perez, MD

Dr. Perez is a radiologist specializing in breast imaging. She is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the Breast Care Center, Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center at Baylor College of Medicine, where she is also the Fellowship Program Director of Breast Imaging. Dr. Perez’s clinical interests include: breast cancer screening and detection; patient-centered and multidisciplinary care; community outreach; and education. 

Dr. Perez received a B.S. and her medical degree from the University Of Puerto Rico School Of Medicine in San Juan and completed an internship at San Juan City Hospital. She went on to complete her residency and a clinical fellowship in breast imaging at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). 

Dr. Perez is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology. She is a member of the American College of Radiology, Society of Breast Imaging, Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, and the Texas Radiological Society. 

Dr. Perez is also a member of the Executive Committee of the BCM’s Chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and serves as Faculty Inclusion Ambassador of BCM’s Inclusion and Excellence Council. In addition to English, Dr. Perez speaks Spanish.
