Terry Lidvin Simpson, MD

Dr. Simpson is a pioneer in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery and known for being one of the first surgeons to be certified in Culinary Medicine. Dr. Simpson received his undergraduate, graduate, and medical degrees from The University of Chicago, and conducted his surgical residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. He is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, and is a Fellow in The American College of Surgeons.In addition Dr. Simpson serves as the treasurer of the governing board of directors for The Alaska Native Medical Center, and on the board of Southcentral Foundation in Anchorage ALaska- the only healthcare team to win two Malcolm Baldridge awards for excellence

In addition to weight loss surgery Dr. Simpson specializes in general surgery and is known for his work on the esophagus (hiatal hernias), as well as the gallbladder, stomach, small bowel, and colon. His strong belief in relationship based medicine and compassionate care.
