Thomas Joseph Horn, MD

I practice general orthopaedics with a special interest in total joint replacements and sports medicine. I believe that, for all physicians, our first priority should be the delivery of quality medical care despite pressures from managed care organizations to consider cost issues and efficiency when caring for our patients. In my practice we stress listening to the patient's complaints, performing a careful physical examination, planning the appropriate diagnostic studies if indicated, and then recommending the proper treatment plan. Conservative management, if appropriate, is always considered before recommending surgical intervention. I work with physiatrists, anesthesiologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and prosthetists when indicated to deliver the most appropriate care. Surgical procedures, when indicated, are performed utilizing the latest techniques and most modern medical equipment and devices available for community orthopaedics. In summary, I am committed to the ongoing delivery of premier orthopaedic care and services to the people of Ventura County. I strive to make the best choices for my patients concerning the quality of their care and my availability to deliver that care as I have done since moving here to Ventura in 1990.
