CommonSpirit hospitals earn recognition for patient safety

At CommonSpirit Health, providing safe, high-quality care is our highest priority. We’re pleased to share that an impressive 82 percent of 88 eligible CommonSpirit hospitals earned an ‘A’ or ‘B’ grade in The Leapfrog Group’s Spring 2025 Hospital Safety Report. 

This recognition speaks to our culture of putting safety first, preventing harm, and constant improvement. 

Leapfrog’s grading system, based on more than 30 national performance measures assigned to healthcare facilities, focuses on processes of infection prevention and error avoidance that result in reduced harm to patients. It’s a transparent way for patients and communities to see how health providers measure up and make informed decisions about their care. 

While we acknowledge the methodology limitations of quality rating initiatives like Leapfrog, we are proud to honor our team members’ focus on improving patient outcomes. This recognition reflects the skill, dedication and hard work of our teams, reinforces our values, and affirms the core principles that drive our work. Every challenge we face is an opportunity to grow, and every success is a reminder of the impact we can have when we stay true to our purpose.
