Saint Joseph Health Welcomes Darcy Taddeo, PA-C, to Neurology Team

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 4, 2025) – Saint Joseph Health welcomes Darcy Taddeo, MPAS, PA-C, to its team at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Neurology in Lexington. Taddeo, who is originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, said her decision to pursue a career in medicine was influenced early in life.

“My father is a physician in internal medicine, and that inspired me to go into medicine,” Taddeo said. “He worked in the emergency room when I was growing up. I grew to love medicine and neurology.”

She began her career in internal medicine in 2015 before moving into neurology. “I did my first two years in internal medicine and then met a neurologist who encouraged me to go into neurology,” Taddeo said. “Neurology is a mystery. The history and physical exam tell the whole story, and I enjoy working through that process to reach a diagnosis.”

Taddeo sees a broad range of neurological conditions, with a particular focus on epilepsy and stroke. She has experience in both inpatient and outpatient neurology and has most recently focused on inpatient neurology for the past five years.

Her patient care philosophy emphasizes education and collaboration.

“I like to tell patients they are the stewards of their own health,” she said. “My goal is to partner with them, share information and explanations, and help them have a clear understanding of their diagnosis and plan of care.”

Taddeo earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Savannah, Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from Florida State University. She has extensive experience in neurology, with roles at the University of Kentucky, Altru Health System in North Dakota, and St. Francis Hospital in Georgia, as well as prior practice in internal medicine.

Outside of work, Taddeo enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, Dr. Frank Paul Taddeo, with CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Orthopedics, and their 6-month-old son. She also enjoys exploring Lexington, visiting local farmers’ markets, and being involved in the community.
