CHI Memorial Receives ‘Veteran Ready Business’ Recognition

CHI Memorial has been recognized as a 2025 Veteran Ready Business by the Tennessee Department of Veteran Services.

CHI Memorial has been recognized as a 2025 Veteran Ready Business by the Tennessee Department of Veteran Services.  This program celebrates businesses in Tennessee that excel in recruiting, hiring, and retaining service members, veterans, and their families (SMVF).

The health system was awarded the bronze level recognition for its commitment to honoring the service and sacrifices of veterans, recognizing military service in hiring practices, and providing support for veteran integration into the workforce.

“We are committed to supporting our nation's veterans and providing them with rewarding careers,” shared Mandy Coffey, CHI Memorial market director of human resources operations. “This recognition underscores our dedication to creating a welcoming and inclusive workplace for veterans, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to recruit and retain this talented and dedicated workforce."

CHI Memorial employs approximately 200 veterans throughout the health system.

The hospital’s parent company, CommonSpirit Health, created the Veteran Initiative Pathways (VIP) Program which offers pathways into health care career opportunities within CommonSpirit for:

  • veterans who have already exited.
  • service members transitioning out of the military.
  • military spouses.

Military personnel bring unique skills, expertise, and a strong sense of mission and service that make them well-qualified for positions within CHI Memorial’s ministry.
