Family Nurse Practicioner Joins Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Center at Flaget Memorial Hospital

Bardstown native Morgan Hack brings a passion for compassionate oncology care.

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (Aug. 29, 2025) – Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Center at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown has added Morgan Hack, APRN, to its team. A Bardstown native, Hack brings more than a decade of nursing experience and a strong commitment to providing both medical care and emotional support to her patients.

Hack credits her mother, a nurse, as her inspiration for pursuing the profession. “I always watched her work hard and knew she loved to help people.” Hack’s interest in oncology began during nursing school, when she met a young boy who had just completed cancer treatment. “He was dancing across the waiting room and was so excited. Seeing someone navigate such a difficult time at a young age and still bring light to a horrible situation, maintaining a positive outlook, inspired me. I knew then I wanted to pursue oncology.”

Hack is passionate about supporting her patients not only physically, but also emotionally. “When you think of cancer, you think nothing but the bad, but there are so many different options. Not all stories end badly. I want to help people see the light at the end of the tunnel and be an inspiration for them as they are for us.”

At the heart of Hack’s patient care philosophy is compassion, trust and open communication. “Compassion goes far. You can be the most skilled provider in the world, but if you don’t have compassion, you won’t be effective. I treat each patient the way I would expect my providers to care for me  – individualizing care, establishing trust, and honoring the patient and their support system in all decision-making processes. I believe in a patient-centered approach that relies on communication and transparency to ensure they always feel heard.”

Hack earned her Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science in nursing from Saint Catharine College in Springfield, Kentucky, and her Master of Science in nursing from Chamberlain University in Addison, Illinois. She is a certified family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and has experience in oncology, neurology and internal medicine.

Outside of work, Hack enjoys staying active with her husband and three children, being outdoors, traveling, cheering on her children in their sports, and sharing quality time with her mother and grandmother.

“I’m from this community, and I’m proud to work here and care for individuals in a vulnerable state, offering them hope and peace.”

Hack is part of the Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Center team at Flaget Memorial Hospital, located at 4359 New Shepherdsville Road, Unit 100, Bardstown, KY 40004. To reach the Cancer Care Center team, call 502-350-5700.
