Pink! Raises $1M for the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center

CHI Memorial Foundation’s annual Pink! gala has raised $8.2 million since its inception.

CHI Memorial Foundation’s 20th annual Pink! gala, chaired by Alex and Lacy Burd,  raised a total of $1,065,000.  All proceeds stay in our local community benefitting the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center at CHI Memorial.  The generosity of the sold-out crowd of 1,100 guests helped bring the total amount raised during 20 years of this annual fundraising gala to more than $8.2 million.

"We are incredibly grateful to our generous community for their continued support," said Jennifer Nicley, president, CHI Memorial Foundation.  "This milestone achievement, marking two decades of the Pink! Gala, underscores the commitment of our community to ensuring access to exceptional breast health care right here at home.  All proceeds will remain local, directly benefiting the women and families of our region."

Pink! proceeds will again benefit the patients served by the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center - specifically a new stereotactic biopsy table for the Hixson location and two new 3D mammography machines to ensure we are continuing to provide the latest in breast cancer screening technology.  Over the past few years, funds raised through Pink have expanded access to mammography throughout our region, helped purchase the latest in equipment, and provided care to uninsured patients or those struggling to afford care. Funds will also be used to provide scholarships for children who have a parent with breast cancer and add to the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center Endowment.

Next year’s Pink! gala will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026.  Call (423) 495-PINK (7465), or visit SupportMemorialFoundation.org for information or to learn about sponsorship opportunities.
