U.S. News & World Report Names Saint Joseph London a High Performing Hospital

LONDON, Ky. (July 29, 2025) – Saint Joseph London has been named among U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 Best Hospitals edition as a High Performing hospital for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pneumonia. This is the highest distinction a hospital can earn as part of U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings.

“Being named a High Performing hospital by U.S. News & World Report is a tremendous honor and a reflection of the exceptional care our team delivers every day,” said John Yanes, president, Saint Joseph London. “This recognition reinforces our commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and serving the health needs of our community with compassion and integrity.”

Two other Saint Joseph Health hospitals have also been recognized by U.S. News & World Report. Saint Joseph Hospital ranked No. 5 in the Kentucky among U.S. News’ latest edition of Best Hospitals. This year, U.S. News announced 504 Best Regional Hospitals across 49 states and 95 metro areas that have demonstrated superior outcomes. Saint Joseph Hospital was also named a High Performing hospital for abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, back surgery (spinal fusion), colon cancer surgery, heart arrhythmia, heart failure, hip fracture, pneumonia, and leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Saint Joseph East was named a High Performing hospital for hip replacement, knee replacement, and pneumonia.

“We are honored that three of our Saint Joseph Health hospitals have been recognized as High Performing by U.S. News & World Report,” said Matt Grimshaw, MBA, president, Saint Joseph Health. “This achievement reflects the unwavering commitment of our physicians, nurses, and staff to delivering exceptional, compassionate care every day. It’s a proud moment for our entire system and a testament to the quality and dedication that our communities can count on.”

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions; only 13% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals designation.

“For more than three decades, U.S. News has been an invaluable guide for patients,” said Managing Editor and Chief of Health Analysis Ben Harder at U.S. News. “Hospitals designated as ‘High Performing’ by U.S. News demonstrate a consistent ability to provide excellent care for particular medical procedures and conditions, showcasing their specialized expertise as well as dedication to exceptional patient outcomes.”

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions; only one third of them earned an award. To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care.
