MOUNT STERLING, Ky. They were recognized during a hospital celebration in April. This year’s recipients are:

  • Physician of the Year - Jan Veloso, DPM, Lexington
  • APP of the Year - Robert Coleman, PA-C, Lexington
  • Employee of the Year - Stevee Caudill, Morehead
  • Leader of the Year - Bridgette Jones, Supervisor of Rehabilitation Services and SLP, London

Each year, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling recognizes an outstanding Physician of the Year and APP of the Year who help build healthier communities and exhibit Saint Joseph Health’s core values of compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence and collaboration. Dr. Jan Veloso was nominated for Physician of the Year by his colleagues.

“Dr. Veloso is known for his kindness and compassion, which he consistently demonstrates in his interactions with both patients and staff,” said his nominator. “He is dedicated to enhancing the quality of care and the overall patient experience and is willing to do anything and everything to achieve this goal, treating everyone with kindness, dignity, and respect in all of his interactions.”

The 2025 APP of the Year is Robert Coleman, a physician’s assistant at the hospital.

“Robert is extremely knowledgeable, has fantastic patient rapport, and consistently goes above and beyond for his patients. This is reflected in the countless letters and positive comments he receives from patients and staff. He is willing to work patients in for appointments on the same day and even calls patients on his days off for follow-ups and checks, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to their well-being. He is a valuable resource for the team, taking the time to train new staff members and patiently answering their questions about procedures,” said his nominator.

Saint Joseph Mount Sterling also recognizes an Employee of the Year and Leader of the Year who go above and beyond their duties and demonstrate the health care system’s core values.

Saint Joseph Mount Sterling’s 2025 Employee of the Year is Stevee Caudill.

“Stevee consistently prioritizes the needs and concerns of patients, going above and beyond to ensure they are scheduled in a timely manner,” said her nominator. “Her exceptional multitasking abilities contribute significantly to the efficiency of her department's daily routine. Stevee recently implemented a new process to streamline scheduling scans for oncology patients to make it more efficient. Her dedication to improving the patient experience and collaborating with other departments is truly commendable.”

Bridgette Jones has been named the 2025 Leader of the Year, recognized for her outstanding leadership in a managerial position.

“Bridgette's leadership fosters a highly successful clinical service dedicated to vulnerable patients,” said her nominator. “Her genuine caring and effective leadership skills are evident in her positive demeanor, which inspires her team to consistently demonstrate humankindness in their patient care and engagement with parents. Under Bridgette's guidance, the service line has experienced continuous growth, necessitating an expansion and modification of the clinic space. Bridgette expertly oversaw these changes to better accommodate patients and create a more private and less distracting environment.
