A sleep disorder is a disruptive pattern of sleep that prevents restful, regenerative sleep. Chronic sleep disruption has been linked to high blood pressure, heart disease, depression, stroke, diabetes, obesity, accidents and debilitating daytime sleepiness. We evaluate and treat all sleep disturbances, including the following symptoms and conditions:
Excessive daytime sleepiness
Unusual movement during sleep
Sleep apnea is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition that is easily identified and effectively treated. Sleep apnea affects one in every 15 Americans, and men are three times more likely to be affected by sleep apnea than women. What's more, 10 million people don’t know they have the condition, and it can affect people of all ages and body-types.
Common signs of sleep apnea include excessive daytime sleepiness, extremely loud snoring, episodes of breathing cessation, insomnia and abrupt awakenings.. More than just interfering with your productivity, sleep apnea also poses other potential risks like stroke, heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.
We offer comprehensive diagnostic testing to identify and address a wide range of sleep disorders. Whether you're experiencing symptoms of sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, or other sleep-related issues, our expert team will guide you through the testing process and provide personalized treatment plans to help you achieve restful, restorative sleep.
Sleep studies are conducted at CHI Memorial Regional Sleep Center 's testing facilities at the Atrium and Hixson.
These centers are equipped with the latest technology to monitor your sleep patterns overnight. They provide a comfortable, home-like environment where you can undergo the study under the supervision of trained professionals. Once the study is complete, our team will review the results and work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan for better sleep health.
Sleep studies and most treatments are covered by Medicare and most commercial insurance plans. Check with your provider or contact our office for assistance.
