Saint Joseph Health Welcomes Erin Martin, PA-C, to Cardiology Team in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 8, 2025) – Saint Joseph Medical Group – Cardiology welcomes Erin Martin, PA-C, to its Lexington team. Martin, a Lexington native, said she knew from an early age she wanted to work in medicine.

“All I’ve ever wanted to do was help people,” said Martin. “I loved science and learning about the body, and medicine was the only career I could see for myself.” 

Her clinical background in emergency and urgent care sparked her interest in cardiology. “I always liked the cardiology aspect of emergency medicine, and I am excited to dedicate my practice to cardiovascular care,” she said. “I like being able to follow patients more closely, watch results from medications and interventions, and make immediate changes that prevent problems and keep people out of the emergency department.”

Martin’s care philosophy centers on partnership with her patients. “Patients should have an active role in their health care,” she said. “I want them to feel empowered to ask questions, make decisions, and know they are supported. Together we can build a plan that prevents serious disease and promotes long-term health.”

She also values connecting with the local community.

“It is important that people feel heard,” Martin said. “As a minority, I understand that certain health concerns can feel especially pressing in underserved communities. I want patients to know their voices matter and that they can be confident engaging in their care. I also hope to be involved in outreach efforts, including health fairs and other local events.”

A Lexington native, Martin earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky, where she served as Diversity Chair of her class, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music–Violin, also from the University of Kentucky.

Martin and her husband live in Lexington with their 3-year-old son and own a local gym. In her free time, she plays the violin and enjoys exercising.
