Erin Martin, PA-C, brings a clinical background in emergency and urgent care to Saint Joseph Medical Group – Cardiology in Lexington. Martin, a Lexington native, received a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Arts degree in music-violin from UK. As a certified physician assistant, Erin Martin believes patients should have an active role in their health care. “I like being able to follow patients more closely, watch results from medications and interventions, and make immediate changes that prevent problems and keep people out of the emergency department,” she said. Connecting with the community through activities like health fairs and local events is also important to her. “As a minority, I understand that certain health concerns can feel especially pressing in underserved communities. I want patients to know their voices matter and that they can be confident engaging in their care,” she said. She and her husband live in Lexington with their young son and own a local gym. In her free time, she plays the violin and enjoys exercising.
