A View from the Bed podcast: What's Wrong with My Heart?

What happens when your heart races with no clear cause? Bonnie shares her journey from ER to diagnosis with Dr. Wallace on our new podcast.

Bonnie was shopping for groceries when her heart started racing. She had experienced some mild flutters in the past, but those had always stopped after a minute. This time, her heart rate stayed elevated, getting even faster after an hour had passed.

Bonnie checked herself into the emergency department at CHI St. Vincent where they used medication to get her heart rate under control. From there, the investigation began. Bonnie’s blood pressure and cholesterol were good. Her calcium and electrolytes were also correct. An EKG didn’t turn up any obvious problems. There wasn’t an easy explanation for why Bonnie’s heart would start racing. It wasn’t until Bonnie visited Eelectrophysiologist Thomas Wallace, MD, that she finally started getting some answers.

In our latest episode of the A View from the Bed podcast, Bonnie talks about her heart health journey, why it’s not always easy to find what’s wrong with your heart, and how the right cardiology provider can make all the difference. Watch Bonnie’s episode here.
