What is chest wall resection and reconstruction?
Chest wall resection and reconstruction is surgery to remove a tumor in the chest wall and rebuild the chest wall. Muscle, skin, and bone may be removed to reach the tumor (resection). The tumor is removed. Then the chest wall is rebuilt using muscle, skin, and artificial materials (reconstruction).
