What is forensic genetic testing?

Forensic genetic testing is done for legal purposes. It may be used to determine family members. It is also often used to help solve crimes by finding out if crime scene DNA evidence could be the same as the suspect's DNA.

Forensic genetic testing is also used to identify unknown people, such as military personnel killed in action or crime victims.
