Passive knee flexor stretch

null
  1. Lie on your back.
  2. Support the heel of your affected leg so that the leg is slightly raised. You can support your heel on a rolled-up towel or a pillow.
  3. Completely relax the raised leg, letting gravity help straighten your knee. Allow the knee to straighten as much as possible.
  4. Relax in this position for at least 30 seconds.
  5. Move your leg to a comfortable position for about 1 minute.
  6. Repeat this stretch 2 to 4 times.

Work up to holding the position for 5 to 6 minutes.

After a few weeks of doing this exercise, if you still need to work on extending your knee, try placing a weight on your leg just above the knee. This will encourage it to straighten a little more. A sock full of rice can work as a weight.
