Abigail Oriaku, APRN, MSN, FNP-C

Dr. Abigail Oriaku, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, is deeply committed to providing compassionate care for families in our Houston community. At CommonSpirit Health, Dr. Oriaku specializes in family practice, urogynecology, and OBGYN care, offering a holistic and evidence-based approach to patient health.

Dr. Oriaku has been dedicated to the nursing profession since 2008, bringing over 17 years of clinical experience to her role. Dr. Oriaku joined the Baylor St. Luke's Medical Group team as a Family Nurse Practitioner after earning her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). Throughout her career, she has consistently focused on meeting the diverse healthcare needs of her patients, with extensive experience in public health, family practice, urogynecology, and OBGYN specialties.

Dr. Oriaku's care philosophy is centered on respect and a comprehensive approach for all patients, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, income level, or religion. Her dedication to patient well-being has been recognized through several awards, including the Mission Award (2015) and Meritorious Honor Award (2012) from the U.S. Department of State, Embassy Libreville, Gabon. She also received The Master of Science in Nursing Leadership Award from UTMB (2012), highlighting her leadership and commitment to her field. Making a direct, positive impact on her patients' lives is the most rewarding aspect of her profession.

Inspired by faith and the common good, Dr. Oriaku is passionate about helping patients achieve their physical and emotional well-being. Her extensive experience in both urban and rural clinical settings has allowed her to hone a care philosophy that truly empowers patients. Outside of her work, Dr. Oriaku enjoys cooking and cherishes quality time with her husband and children.
