Ahmad Mahallati, MD

Ahmad Mahallati, MD, specializes in nephrology (kidney disease), renal transplantation and diabetes.

Dr. Mahallati dislikes the use of the word "patient" because he prefers to treat people who walk into his office as individuals; as fathers, brothers, sisters, mothers, daughters and sons with connections to the greater community and not isolated entities. Dr. Mahallati is a member of the American Medical Association and American Society of Nephrology. He was named the American College of Physicians Resident of the Year at Harbor Hospital in 2007 and received a Scholarship and Professionalism Award there in 2006.

In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Mahallati enjoys portrait painting (featured on ABC News' "Nightline") and hiking with his wife and golden retriever.
