Alexander Hernandez, MD

Board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, Alexander Hernandez, MD sees patients of all ages at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care. As a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics, his areas of interest include hypertension, diabetes and thyroid disorders. Dr. Hernandez, who has been practicing since 2022, says his approach to care is to listen to patients’ concerns “and address them as able,” he said. “If not able to address the concerns adequately, then trying to explain possible next steps.” He said he was inspired to become a doctor because, “I wanted to show God's love to patients—that no matter their walk of life, that they are not forgotten and are loved and cared for.” Dr. Hernandez earned an undergraduate degree from University of Central Florida in Orlando and a master’s degree in medical physiology from Loyola University in Chicago. He received his medical degree from Loyola’s Stritch School of Medicine. When he’s not working, he loves playing baseball and board games, and enjoying Bible study with his church.
