Brent Terrell, MD

Board-certified urologist Brent Terrell, MD has practiced medicine since 1990 and is a published author in the areas of prostate cancer and urothelial cancer. He sees patients ages 18 and up at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Urology. His areas of interest include prostate cancer with advanced detection and risk assessment, stone disease and overactive bladder/incontinence. Dr. Terrell says he was called to serve in medicine in the sixth grade, and that he later chose his specialty because he felt It was the best blend of primary care and surgery approaches. He describes his approach to patient care as state-of-the-art and compassionate, aiming to demonstrate humankindness in every patient interaction. “Feeling that I might potentially have a positive impact on another person and the kindness they show me in return is what keeps me in the game,” he said. Dr. Terrell holds an undergraduate degree from Georgetown College and received his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He served a one-year pathology fellowship at UK and his urology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Away from work, Dr. Terrell enjoys sports cards collecting, traveling, hiking, lake life, yoga, guitar, music, biking, boating, beach and the gym.
