Dr. Frankel is a board-certified rheumatologist dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care across the full spectrum of rheumatic diseases. Her clinical practice includes the management of conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, axial spondyloarthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögren’s disease, systemic sclerosis, mixed connective tissue disease, inflammatory myopathies, vasculitis, autoinflammatory diseases, gout, and calciumpyrophosphate deposition disease. She partners closely with her patients through a shared decision-making approach, ensuring that treatment plans reflect each individual’s goals, values, and lifestyle. Dr. Frankel is committed to applying the latest research and evidence-based guidelines to optimize outcomes, while prioritizing clear, timely communication so patients feel informed and supported at every step of their care.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Frankel serves as Associate Program Director of the Virginia Mason rheumatology fellowship program, where she is engaged in medical education, mentorship, and curriculum development. She is passionate about training the next generation of rheumatologists and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, gardening, and exploring Washington State.
