Dr. Bruce S. Lachterman is a board-certified, fellowship-trained cardiologist specializing in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease. He completed his medical training at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico, and the University of California Irvine School of Medicine. Dr. Lachterman is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has been serving The Woodlands community since 1993, providing expert cardiac care.
Following his internal medicine training at UC Irvine, Dr. Lachterman furthered his expertise in cardiovascular training at the University of Texas-Houston Health Science Center-affiliated teaching hospitals, including Hermann Hospital and St. Luke's Texas Heart Institute. His primary clinical interests include coronary intervention, as well as the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of peripheral vascular disease.
Dr. Lachterman has held significant leadership roles, including Chairman for the Departments of Cardiology and Internal Medicine at Houston Northwest Medical Center Hospital, Memorial Hermann-The Woodlands Hospital, and St. Luke's Health-The Woodlands Hospital. He currently serves as the Medical Director of the cardiac catheterization lab at Houston Northwest Medical Center and St. Luke's Hospital/Community Medical Center-The Woodlands. His commitment to advancing cardiac care is evident through his instrumental role in developing the cardiovascular intervention program at Houston Northwest Medical Center.
A prolific author, Dr. Lachterman has contributed numerous publications on exercise testing, myocardial salvage, and ischemia to peer-reviewed journals such as the American Journal of Cardiology, Annals of Internal Medicine, Cardiology Board Review, Journal of Interventional Cardiology, and Circulation. His contributions have earned him recognition as a "Top Doctor" in Inside Houston Magazine and inclusion in "The Best Doctors in America" database. Dr. Lachterman is an active member of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and the American Heart Association.
