A native of Vanceburg, Kentucky, Dr. Casey Clark comes to CHI Saint Joseph Health after completing a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics with UK Healthcare.
Dr. Clark graduated from UK with a Bachelor of Science in biology. He was also a member of the University Honors Program and graduated magna cum laude. Upon entering medical school, he participated in UK’s Rural Health Scholars Program and Rural Physician Leadership Program. Both programs vet students interested in practicing in a rural area after they complete their medical education and training. The selection process is competitive, and the program allows students to complete multiple clinical rotations across Kentucky, depending on their specialty.
Dr. Clark says he’s looking forward to “taking care of what the patients care about” and seeing patients through their lives from childhood to adulthood. “I think it’s important to consider, does the patient want to do this? Is the patient going to do this? And I can meet them in the middle to work on their health. I think it’s important as physician to use opportunities to plant those seeds.”
