Christina R. Parkhurst, MD, FACS

Dr. Christina Parkhurst is a board-certified general surgeon with CHI Memorial Surgical Associates - Hixson, specializing in hernia repair, colon resection, and gallbladder and appendix removal. A graduate of Meharry Medical College, Dr. Parkhurst completed her general surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia. She is particularly passionate about leveraging advanced technologies like robotic surgery at CHI Memorial Hospital Hixson, offering patients the benefits of minimally invasive techniques for improved outcomes and reduced post-operative pain. Dr. Parkhurst's journey into medicine began with a deep-seated desire to serve, cultivated during childhood mission trips to Haiti. Witnessing significant healthcare needs solidified her commitment to the profession. Today, she continues this impactful work as President and Surgical Director of I AM Haiti, leading surgical teams that deliver life-changing medical care to communities in the Western Hemisphere. She leverages her surgical expertise to not only enhance patient well-being but also to impact global health. In her leisure time, she enjoys biking, hiking and travel alongside precious moments with family and friends.
