Christopher LaVergne, MD

Dr. LaVergne is a board-certified, fellowship-trained non-interventional cardiologist who specializes in the early diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disease using non-invasive techniques like nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. He has been serving the community of The Woodlands, Texas, since 1998, always focusing on patient education and individualized care. Recognizing that healing the body, mind, and spirit is crucial, Dr. LaVergne makes the healing presence of God known in his world by improving the health of the people he serves, especially when they are vulnerable.

Dr. LaVergne began his medical career after graduating from Baylor University and attending the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas-Houston Health Science Center, where he was later honored as Chief Cardiology Fellow during his clinical fellowship in cardiovascular diseases. His deep commitment to excellence in patient care and service was recognized when he was voted 'Physician of the Year' at Memorial Hermann Hospital - The Woodlands in 2003.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. LaVergne is dedicated to advancing social justice through medical research. He has actively participated in several clinical investigations and is a published author, with research appearing in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine. His particular interest lies in cardiac prevention, and he is passionate about empowering patients to play an active role in determining their best treatment options.

Dr. LaVergne holds certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is certified by the Board of Nuclear Cardiology American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC). His approach to care is rooted in the belief that each person possesses inherent dignity, and he strives to provide personalized care that resonates with people of different faiths, beliefs, and traditions. He embodies humankindness by ensuring that patients are met with listening, empathy, and love, accompanying and comforting those in need of healing.
