Craig R. Hampton, MD, FACS, is board certified in general and cardiothoracic surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Dr. Hampton has published numerous related topics including stentless aortic valve replacement and mitral valve repair.
After finishing medical school at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Dr. Hampton performed residencies in general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and served as chief surgical resident at the University of Washington in Seattle. He also earned an NIH-funded research fellowship in cardiovascular surgery. Prior to joining St. Joseph Cardiothoracic Surgeons in 2010, Dr. Hampton practiced cardiac surgery at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota.
Dr. Hampton is interested in all aspects of adult cardiac surgery including aortic root pathology, aortic surgery, arrhythmia surgery, coronary surgery, and valve repairs and replacements.
