D'Ann Leigh is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with a heartfelt commitment to the health and well-being of every person she serves. D'Ann began her career in healthcare in 2004 as a registered nurse, later earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2017, and her Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2021, all from the University of Texas at Arlington.
With a comprehensive background in critical care and hospitalist services, D'Ann brings a wealth of experience to her role. She is certified as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and has extensive experience in managing complex patient needs, including serving as a Charge Nurse in a 40-bed Telemetry Unit and a Level II Trauma Center Critical Care Unit. In her most recent role as a Hospitalist APP at St. Joseph CHI, she was responsible for admitting, managing, and discharging patients, coordinating care to ensure seamless transitions.
Her philosophy regarding patient care centers on enhancing quality of life through compassionate, personalized, and patient-focused healthcare. D'Ann believes every person deserves to feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. Her goal is to provide education, support, and evidence-based treatment while fostering trusting relationships that empower patients to achieve optimal health. She genuinely cares about each patient's well-being and strives to create a welcoming and supportive environment. D'Ann is actively involved in professional organizations such as the Association of Acute Care Nurses (AACN), the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and the Brazos Valley Nurse Practitioner Association (BVNPA), attending yearly conferences and monthly educational meetings to stay current in her field.
Outside of her professional role, D'Ann enjoys spending quality time with her grandchildren, creating special memories, and embracing every moment with family. She also has a passion for arts and crafts, which allows her to express her creativity and unwind, reflecting her commitment to holistic well-being.
