David E. Hardesty, MD

Dr. David Hardesty is a board-certified neurologist with a subspecialty in Behavioral Neurology, bringing decades of advanced training and clinical expertise to patients on California's Central Coast. He currently practices at Dignity Health Fair Oaks Specialty Center in Arroyo Grande, California. Dr. Hardesty earned his Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Animal Physiology from the University of California, Davis, followed by his Doctor of Medicine from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He later pursued advanced academic study at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, further broadening his understanding of neurology and public health. His clinical training reflects both the depth and breadth of his expertise. He completed a combined Psychiatry and Medical Internship followed by a Neurology Residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He then trained at Columbia University in New York, where he completed a Clinical Fellowship in Movement Disorders and subsequently served with the Electroconvulsive Therapy Service at New York Presbyterian Hospital and the New York State Psychiatric Institute. With training that spans neurology, psychiatry, movement disorders, and behavioral neurology, Dr. Hardesty brings a uniquely integrative perspective to patient care. He is dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based neurological care to the communities of Arroyo Grande and the surrounding Central Coast region.
