Derrick Gene Hurst, DO

Dr. Derrick Hurst, DO, is a family medicine physician at CommonSpirit Primary Care St. Francis Hospital. He strives to provide efficient and compassionate care for whatever concerns his patients may have. Dr. Hurst believes in listening to his patients completely and directing their care in a thorough way, while empowering patients to make decisions that work best for their personal care. Dr. Hurst earned a degree in Chemistry from Cameron University and attended Oklahoma State College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. He completed his Family Medicine residency program at the University of Oklahoma and has been board certified in Family Medicine since 2007. Outside of work, Dr. Hurst spends most of his time with his family. His wife is also a family practice physician, and he has two daughters. He takes great joy in helping them in their pursuit of equestrian riding. Other personal interests include taking walks outside and going on adventures with their dogs.
