Ferenc Markos, MD

Dr. Markos is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, bringing more than 30 years of medical expertise to his patients in the Conroe and Woodlands area. He specializes in comprehensive women's health care, ensuring accessible and high-quality services for the community. Dr. Markos considers it a privilege to be a part of one of the most important moments of a family’s life, recognizing that every patient is a unique individual with distinct care needs. He primarily practices at the St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital campus.

His medical journey began with an undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from Houston Baptist University. Dr. Markos earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and completed his residency in OB/GYN care at the University of Texas Southwestern at Dallas, Parkland Hospital. Originally from Romania, where he holds Hungarian nationality, Dr. Markos has found a home in Texas, where his dedication to learning and patient well-being has shaped his compassionate approach to medicine throughout his three decades of practice.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Markos is deeply involved in the medical community. He is a valued member and former President of the Montgomery County Medical Society and actively participates in the Texas Medical Association, demonstrating his commitment to advancing health care standards and outcomes. Dr. Markos previously served as Chief of Staff and Chief of OB/GYN at Conroe Regional Hospital, where he played a pivotal role in leadership and patient care, always inspiring trust through honesty and demonstrating courage in the face of inequity.

Inspired by a deep sense of humankindness, Dr. Markos's care philosophy centers on treating each patient with respect and personalized attention, believing that every individual deserves to feel understood and valued as part of our mission to improve health. Away from his medical practice, Dr. Markos cherishes quality time with his family, particularly enjoying his grandchildren. He also embraces the outdoors with camping and boating, explores the arts through theatrical performances, and engages in DIY projects. Fluent in five languages, he finds joy in traveling and experiencing diverse cultures, continuously connecting with our shared humanity.
