Frances Tian, MD

Frances Tian, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician with subspecialty board certification in nephrology. In addition to her nephrology practice, Dr. Tian serves as an acting instructor and research fellow at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Dr. Tian enjoys connecting with her patients through storytelling. She synthesizes each patient’s story with clinical data in order to re-tell their stories in a way that honors their truth and deepens her understanding of medicine and life. Understanding how factors outside of medicine can impact a patient’s health, Dr. Tian seeks to help patients with chronic conditions live fully, as opposed to leading lives in service to their condition.

Dr. Tian is a member of the American Society of Nephrology. In 2019 she was an American Society of Nephrology Kidney Stars recipient.

Away from work, Dr. Tian enjoys hiking with her dogs, photography and travel.
