Gary Coleman, MD

Dr. Coleman is a board-certified, fellowship-trained cardiologist with expertise in cardiovascular disease, practicing in The Woodlands and North Houston area since 1990. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Coleman is dedicated to providing integrated and holistic care experiences, focusing on advanced atherosclerosis risk factor assessment and early detection techniques to identify and treat those at risk for life-threatening cardiovascular events.

Dr. Coleman began his medical journey in 1980 at Rice University, receiving his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1984. He completed his Internal Medicine internship, residency, and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Texas-Houston Health Science Center and affiliated teaching hospitals, including Hermann Hospital and St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. His areas of focus emphasize a proactive approach to the prevention of coronary artery disease and stroke, utilizing the latest cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional techniques.

Beyond his clinical expertise, Dr. Coleman served as a Clinical Instructor in the Internal Medicine Department at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston for 10 years, reflecting his commitment to teaching and advancing medical knowledge. He has contributed significantly to the medical community through several clinical reports and basic research articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the prestigious Circulation. Dr. Coleman has also demonstrated leadership as chairman of the cardiology and internal medicine departments at two of our affiliated hospitals.

Dr. Coleman's unwavering dedication to excellence and patient care has earned him significant recognition, including being named 'Best Cardiologist' in the Woodlands in a 1993 Houston Metro Magazine survey and a 'Top Doctor' in Inside Houston Magazine's 1998 report on Houston's best physicians. He is also honored to be included in the database 'The Best Doctors in America'.
