Philosophy of care: I believe that our job as primary care physicians is to work as an advocate for our patients, listen to their concerns and issues, and help to guide them through the sometimes scary environment of medicine today. I believe in using evidence-based care, but tailoring that care to the specific needs of each individual patient, considering the context of their family and living environment and their community. Primary care needs to return to focusing on the patient and be the center or medical home for their patient's care. This is only accomplished through developing good relationships that patients can rely on, and necessitates providing appropriate time and dialog to develop that relationship.
