Joan (Susie) Woo, MD, FACC

J. Susie Woo, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist. Her medical interests include preventive and diagnostic cardiology; echocardiography; cardiac risk assessment; and valvular and aortic disease.  She has specialized training in cardiac imaging and heart failure, with additional board certifications in Nuclear Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.

Dr. Woo makes it a priority to listen and develop a strong patient-doctor relationship through education and open communication. She recognizes the need to understand each patient's differences and preferences, from the impact of genetics, race and gender to their reactions to medications and response to treatment. 

Dr. Woo was the Medical Director for Education and Outreach before taking on the role as Section Head for Cardiology at Virginia Mason in 2020.  She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and was recognized by both Seattle Magazine and Seattle Met Magazine as a Top Doctor in 2021.  

Away from work, Dr. Woo enjoys music, reading, Pilates, cooking, the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
