Kao-swi Karina Shih, MD

Dr. Kaoswi Karina Shih is an Assistant Professor in the Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine. She began her clinical practice in the BSLMC Clinical Pavilion on September 23, 2025. Dr. Shih previously served as an Assistant Professor of Palliative Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center and also provided palliative care with Kelsey-Seybold Clinic.

She completed her Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship at MD Anderson and her family medicine residency at the Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Shih earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and her undergraduate degree from Rice University.
