I'm a third-generation physician; my grandfather, father, and I are all doctors. My father is still one of the best cardiologists I have ever met. I grew up in the Midwest and graduated Phi Beta Kappa as a science major at Northwestern University near Chicago. I studied in Germany between college and medical school on a scholarship, and I speak German fluently. After graduating Cum Laude (With Honors) from Harvard Medical School in Boston, I trained at Harvard, UCSF, and Stanford. My first job was at UC-Davis Medical Center, where I got tenure, and I've been here at Woodland Clinic ever since. I really love being a doctor. It's interesting, fun, and an enormous privilege to try and help patients get better, or to gain a better understanding of their chronic illnesses. I do cardiac ablation, pacemaker, and defibrillator procedures, but I also enjoyed following my patients into their 90's and beyond. I am board certified and a member of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). I am also a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS). Woodland Clinic is a fantastic place to practice medicine- the patients are friendly, the other providers are collegial, and the equipment is excellent. My husband is a lawyer, and we have two teenage sons and two orange kittens.
The focus of my work is cardiology, women's cardiovascular disease , sudden death, and arrhythmias.
