Kawthar Mohamed, MD

Kawthar Mohamed, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician specializing in gastroenterology and hepatology. Dr. Mohamed believes every patient deserves compassionate, comprehensive and equitable access to health care. She is committed to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care that both addresses disease states and also empowers patients to better understand and participate in their health journey.

In 2021 Dr. Mohamed was an American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) Emerging Liver Scholar awardee. She has conducted research on HCC screening in African-born patients with chronic hepatitis B and early sobriety in alcohol-related liver disease outcomes in liver transplant, among other topics.
