Kelly Lorraine Stone, MD

Dr. Stone is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in a broad range of surgical procedures, with clinical interests in both emergent and elective general surgery, including abdominal, gastrointestinal, breast, and endocrine operations. Dr. Stone is committed to utilizing advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques to optimize patient recovery and outcomes. Dr. Stone began practicing medicine in 2025 following the completion of her General Surgery Residency at the University of Oklahoma – Tulsa. Prior to medical school, her foundational experiences as an Aviation Operations Specialist in the United States Army instilled in her a disciplined approach and unwavering commitment to excellence, which she now applies to surgical care. She emphasizes collaborative patient care, working closely with primary care providers and specialists to ensure a comprehensive and personalized approach to each patient’s health journey. She finds deep satisfaction in empowering her patients through transparent communication and guiding them to successful recovery. Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Stone is actively involved in medical education and quality improvement initiatives. She serves on the Resident Association Committee for the American College of Surgeons, contributing to the development and support of future surgical leaders. She also plays an integral role on the Graduate Medical Education Committee and the Program Evaluation Committee at OU-Tulsa, dedicated to maintaining high standards in residency training. Dr. Stone's commitment to teaching was recognized with an Outstanding Teacher Award from the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa School of Community Medicine in 2021. Away from her medical practice, Dr. Stone enjoys traveling, delving into various books, solving challenging puzzles, and playing golf. These pursuits reflect her appreciation for intellectual engagement, strategic thinking, and the pursuit of new experiences.
